About the Position:
We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented candidates for the position of Senior Accounting Supervisor in the Accounting Unit. As a Senior Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of 2 Staff Accountants, conducting financial reconciliations and research, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and optimizing financial processes. You will play an important role in ensuring operational success and contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Whether you’re providing direct services, supporting internal processes, or driving key initiatives, your role will be vital to the success of the team.

In this role, you will:
- Supervise and mentor a team of two Staff Accountants, overseeing hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee financial operations, including credit card dispute resolution, bank reconciliations, and complex account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Drive process improvements by identifying inefficiencies in reconciliation workflows, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring cross-system accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to enhance internal controls, improve operational efficiency, and uphold best practices in accounting principles.
Preferences will be given to candidates who have:
- Technical Proficiency – Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial software, along with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Experience in Governmental Accounting – Hands-on experience in governmental and fund accounting, including familiarity with budgetary constraints, revenue streams, and expenditure tracking.
- Financial Analysis & Process Improvement – Strong analytical skills to reconcile accounts, detect and correct errors, and enhance accounting procedures for efficiency and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education, training, and/or experience at an intermediate to advanced level in:
- Accounting, business administration, financial planning, budgeting, or a related field
- Demonstrated competency in:
- Analyzing complex data and records
- Interpreting policies, rules, and laws
- Designing operational frameworks
- Identifying process and procedure deficiencies
- Developing practical solutions
- Analyzing complex data and records
