Job Description:
This is professional services work in overseeing and providing comprehensive planning, research, evaluation, and policy development services to the Department of Transportation. The position will work closely with Resource Coordination Manager and Senior Environmental Manager.
The position:
- Works with other agencies and municipalities in order to develop and implement department programs (e.g., Municipal Culvert Program).
- Manages contracts with municipalities in order to ensure proper and efficient program implementation.
- Develops and utilizes data in order to coordinate and facilitate comprehensive, integrated planning and design. (e.g., culvert designs to meet MaineDOT programmatic agreements).
- Utilizes planning and engineering techniques in order to ensure transportation project needs and priorities are met.
- Provides assistance with permit applications, assessments, and reviews to meet MaineDOT's production goals.
- Provides assistance implementing regulatory efficiencies. (e.g., NEPA assignment, agreements)
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
An eight (8) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in planning and program development with specific background in specialized field as necessary (i.e. transportation planning).
