OVERVIEW:
The Department of Defense Veterans and Emergency Management (DVEM) utilizes Building Automation Systems (BACS) for Maine Army National Guard (MEANG) facilities through a wide variety of programs for the State of Maine. This position in conjunction with the MEANG Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management oversees a large-scale enterprise infrastructure and applications that support critical and diverse building automation needs of the State of Maine Army National Guard Facilities.
DVEM is seeking a technical professional who is highly proficient in BACS specifically Tridium Niagara Applications. The selected individual will join as a contributing team member with other highly qualified network security staff and will assist in engineering, installing, and maintaining enterprise level BACS systems.
ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:
- Work is performed under limited supervision. Teamwork is essential. We all help each other, regardless of our roles, thus a multi-technical skilled candidate with a diverse background in systems is preferred, and consideration will be provided to a candidate with knowledge of Tridium Niagara systems. This position is based in Augusta, Maine.
- Ability to perform technical complex coding and network troubleshooting in both and office and jobsite environment this work may require crawling, climbing, kneeling, and the ability to grasp small objects with both hands

- Engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting of BACS systems
- Knowledge of building systems and components i.e., HVAC equipment
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Work with an outstanding team of IT professionals – you will share knowledge and you will learn about some of the most complex IT systems in the State of Maine
- Use your skills to solve problems and contribute directly to solutions that make a difference
- Proactively engage on requests and projects
- Perform a full range of system administration functions from acquisition, configuration, installation, monitoring, and maintenance of BACS systems
- Share technical knowledge about BACS systems, security switches, routers and other network security software and hardware
- Develop complex reports and provide solutions to performance issues
- Maintain configuration standards, documentation of network devices, including servicing and upgrading of equipment. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with network users, and Information System professionals
- Have a commitment and understanding to provide excellence in customer service
- Test and evaluate software and hardware products to determine applicability and value to agency operations.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
We need a candidate who can deliver and contribute as a positive team player, a person who understands network systems and associated security risks and can make decisions to effectively improve work and performance levels. This work requires a candidate with strong IT skills and ability to self-manage daily operations and perform complex process workflow with little supervision. Supervision may be exercised contractors or lower-level technical personnel.

Minimum qualifications:
A five (5) year combination of education, training, and/or professional experience in project management, systems analysis, business analysis, program specialty, or related field.
Preference will be given to those applicants:
Hiring preference for candidates with current Niagara 4 Technical Certification Program (TCP) (APAC) certifications, and multiple years’ experience in a responsible role. In order to obtain permanent status, the successful candidate must successfully complete the following Department provided training Within the first year of employment.
